About Gan Hup Lee
Gan Hup Lee is one of the leading rice importers and suppliers in Singapore.
An immigrant from Fujian, China, Gan Koon Tek established a grocery store in Clive Street of Little India. He named it Gan Hup Lee, because he believed in sharing goodness with other people. The business has grown over seven decades, and today, our customers range from large institutions to businesses including popular chicken rice and zichar chain stores.
Through the years, despite times of economic challenges and uncertainties, Gan Hup Lee has remained steadfast in creating value for our customers, and serving their needs with our utmost abilities. At the same time, we proudly contribute to our nation’s food security, and reach out to the needy in our society through giving.
In all that we do, we strive to show kindness through action. We want to pass on the legacy of goodness, and ensure sustainability for generations.

The late Mr. Gan started his business with a simple but profound vision: help his customers and improve the community around him. Today, that vision continues to define and energise the company.

Grocery Shop, Clive Street
Our founder and then-entrepreneur, Mr Gan Koon Tek, started Gan Hup Lee as a small grocery shop.
We have come a long way since 1949. Not resting on our laurels, we constantly seek to upgrade ourselves. We believe that change is a constant and that spirit has kept us forging ahead, to embrace new technologies, knowledge and expertise through the years.

Rice Retailer, Dickson Road
We began distributing rice to hawker centres and restaurants.

We moved to a bigger warehouse to store more products.
